| We explore the role of cholesterol metabolism in the control of tumor progression and in the resistance to therapies in several cancers (breast, skin, thyroid, leukemia). We are studying the biological properties and biosynthetic pathways of two metabolites that we have discovered: dendrogenin A (DDA) and oncosterone (OCDO) which are respectively tumor suppressor and tumor promoter metabolites. |

we are exploring a new metabolic branch on the cholesterol pathway that is centered on 5,6-epoxycholestanols.
were are developing multidisciplinary approaches including chemistry, biochemistry, cell signalling, cancer preclinical models...
our work was awarded in 2023 with the Schroepfer medal (AOCS) in recognition of the importance of our worlk in particular related to the discovery of dendrogenins and oncosterone, two new cholesterol metabolites involved in the control of breast carcinogenesis
